LASU management solicits support of CCECC ahead of 11th FASU games

The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, has reached out to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) for support through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Addressing representatives from CCECC at a meeting on Monday, 19th August 2024, at the Vice Chancellor’s Conference Room on the 6th floor, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, main campus, Ojo, Lagos, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Omotunde Boyo, emphasised that LASU will be co-hosting the 11th FASU Games together with the University of Lagos, necessitating CCECC’s support.

The professor of physics averred that the 11th FASU Games, themed “LAGOS 2024: Unite, Compete, Excel,” is scheduled to hold between Friday, 20th to Sunday, 29th September 2024.

At the meeting, the CCECC team, led by Project Manager Haydan Teng, commended the University Management for its invaluable efforts in positioning LASU as the Best Institution in West Africa.

The team lead subsequently presented a proposal for the installation of solar power generation systems to the University Management.

The CCECC delegation included;  PR Manager Pillar Cni, Tang Teh, Engineer Huang Dan, and Engineer Adeshina.

Top officials from LASU present at the meeting included; Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Professor Olufunsho Abayomi Omobitan; Acting Bursar/Deputy Bursar for Budget & Budgetary Control and Lagos State Government Matters, Mr Adekunle Odunlami; and University Librarian, Dr Omawunmi Makinde.

Other members of the university in attendance were; Deputy Director of Works & Physical Planning, Engineer (Dr) W. Odukaiye; Chief Technical Officer Engineer Alfred Olushola Dairo; Deputy Registrar in the Vice Chancellor’s Office, Dr Lateef Shekoni; and Deputy Registrar/Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor, Dr Lateef Salami, members of staff in the Vice Chancellor’s Office and Centre for Information and Public Relations (CIPR) among others.

The vote of thanks was delivered by the Acting Registrar/Deputy Registrar for Academic Staff Establishment, Mr Samuel Otesanya.
