The Directorate of the University Health Services would like to join our amiable Vice-Chancellor, Prof Olayemi Akinwumi, and the Management of the Federal University Lokoja to welcome our guests and the esteemed University community to the 8th Convocation Ceremony.
As we prepare to attend this event packed full of various activities, the Directorate of University Health Services wishes to issue the following health advisory to our esteemed guests and members of the University community:
Breakfast remains the most important meal of the day. Make sure to take time to have breakfast before leaving home for any of the convocation programs, especially for the main event on Saturday.
People on medications like hypertensives and diabetics as well as other ailments are advised to take their medications before coming for the events, especially on the main convocation day.

While the convocation activities offer an opportunity to explore the University as well as state hospitality, the public is advised to avoid indiscriminate eating, especially from mobile food vendors, and unhygienic local food and drinks peddlers.
It is always advisable to practice handwashing and proper washing of fruits and vegetables before eating them.
Even though the weather has been clement lately, there is a need to remember that the weather in Lokoja can be hot and everyone is advised not to forget to drink water and rehydrate in the course of the activities.
Environmental Sanitation is very important. Everyone is advised to avoid littering the environment and to use waste bins strategically located at designated sites within the University campuses.
The University Health Services will always be available during the convocation activities. Our esteemed guests and members of the University community are encouraged to beckon on them or report to the medical stand in case of any health emergency or challenge.
Once again, the Directorate of the University Health Services wishes all our esteemed guests and the University community a wonderful and healthy time during the 8th Convocation Ceremony. Check out the programme of activities here
