Description For 2025 Scholarship in Physical Chemistry At Lund University
The successful candidate will:
- Investigate the role of the softness of individual colloids in structuring and rheological properties of suspensions under flow.
- Study microgel suspensions using small-angle X-ray and neutron scattering to explore particle arrangements and the shape of individual colloids.
- Optimize and implement shear cells for small-angle scattering in flow and high shear applied conditions (>10^4 s^-1) while enabling simultaneous polarized microscopy, rheology, and SAS experiments.
- Identify key parameters influencing the flow properties of colloidal particles and the role of particle softness in formation processes.
- Engage with interdisciplinary research and contribute to the development of soft colloids for applications in biomedicine, emulsions for cosmetics, detergents, and shampoos.
