The Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology at Ruhr University Bochum is seeking a highly motivated and experienced POSTDOC (M/F/D) for a period of 3 years with 39.83 hours per week (TV-L E13) in the field of Molecular and Cellular Botany. This position offers the opportunity to set up an independent junior research group and conduct research on the insertion pathways of tail-anchored membrane proteins into the endoplasmic reticulum of Arabidopsis thaliana.

Eligibility For 2025 Scholarship In Molecular and Cellular Botany At Ruhr University Bochum
- Master’s degree in Biology or a comparable natural science Specialization in plant physiology or another plant subdiscipline
- Practical experience with molecular biological and biochemical methods
- Practical experience in working with Arabidopsis thaliana, including cultivation, transformation, genotyping/phenotyping
- Excellent language skills in German and English
- Practical experience in student training

Description For 2025 Scholarship In Molecular and Cellular Botany At Ruhr University Bochum
- Utilize general molecular biological and biochemical methods (e.g., PCR, cloning, protein purification, and detection)
- Employ cell biological techniques such as the use of fluorescent markers and their analysis by laser confocal and fluorescence microscopy
- Independently document and evaluate data, participate in the writing of publications, and the subsequent peer review process
- Collaborate in raising third-party funds, especially for more experienced candidates
- Teach and train students in basic and laboratory internships (4 SWS)
