The MOPGA Visiting Fellowship Program supports early career researchers in tackling important climate-related challenges.
MOPGA Fellowship for Climate Change Research
France, as a strong advocate for climate action, is launching the eighth edition of the MOPGA Visiting Fellowship Program.
The program aims to support at least 60 early career researchers in advancing climate research.
The fellowship is funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research, with Campus France handling the implementation.
Benefits of the MOPGA Visiting Fellowship Program
Selected researchers will enjoy several benefits:
- A monthly allowance of 2,500 euros.
- A moving allowance of 500 euros.
- Health Insurance covering civil liability and repatriation until registration with the French Social Security Scheme.
- Complementary Health Insurance once registration with Social Security is complete.
Eligibility for MOPGA Visiting Fellowship Program
To qualify for the MOPGA Visiting Fellowship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Non-French citizenship.
- Hold a doctoral degree obtained within the last five years (thesis defence between December 2019 and December 2024).
- Must not have resided in France between 5th September 2024 and 5th December 2024 for more than 90 days.
Eligible Research Themes
Research must fall under one of these five broad themes:
- Earth Systems.
- Climate Change and Sustainability.
- Energy Transition.
- Societal Challenges of Environmental Issues.
- One Health Approach covering human, animal, and ecosystem health.
Application Process for MOPGA Fellowship
Interested researchers need to provide the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV), including publications (maximum 4 pages).
- PhD Diploma or a certificate of completion.
- CV of the Research Supervisor from the French host institution (maximum 2 pages).
- Letter of Support from the French host institution.
- Up to 3 Letters of Recommendation.
- Passport or Proof of ID.
All documents must be in PDF format, and files should be compressed to make the upload easier.
