Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in proteomics, proteomics sample preparation, mass spectrometry technical development, or related work.

Description For 2025 Scholarship In Genome Sciences At University of Washington

The Postdoctoral Scholar will lead multiple projects to improve and apply high-throughput proteomics to understand complex biological systems in a mass spectrometry lab. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing, designing, and implementing new proteomic methods towards understanding cellular signaling and intercellular interactions.
  • Actively preparing, writing, and publishing papers on research findings.
  • Presenting findings at various meetings and participating in research-related discussions.
  • Analyzing peptides and proteins using mass spectrometers.
  • Running and maintaining high-end mass spectrometers.
  • Performing sample preparation and isobaric sample barcoding for quantitative proteomics.
  • Maintaining cell cultures and conducting cell biological, genetic, and biochemical experiments.
  • Executing data analysis using internal/external software.
  • Training and supervising research scientists, undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Accurate record-keeping and version control of all aspects of lab experiments.
