The Chair of Inorganic Active Materials for Electrochemical Energy Storage, led by Prof. Dr. Matteo Bianchini at the University of Bayreuth, is seeking up to two postdoctoral researchers. Description For 2025 Scholarship In Electrochemical Storage At University of Bayreuth

The research will focus on one of the two following topics based on the candidate’s expertise and interests:

  1. Synthesis and Characterization of Negative Electrode Materials for Na-ion Batteries: This project will involve working alongside a PhD student to synthesize and analyze negative electrode composites based on hard carbons and alloying materials. The aim is to improve performance and evaluate the potential for scale-up using various synthetic methods. Candidates will have access to a wide range of characterization tools such as SEM, XRD, SAXS, and Raman.
  2. Development of Na-based Solid-State Batteries: This ERC-funded project aims to develop sustainable solid-state sodium batteries by integrating advanced materials (positive/negative electrodes and solid electrolytes) into energy-dense devices. Candidates will build on the group’s research in these areas to contribute to breakthrough solutions for solid-state battery technology.
