Eligibility for Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Direct Entry Screening
To qualify for the BUK Direct Entry screening, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must have applied through JAMB for Direct Entry admissions and chosen Bayero University, Kano as your first choice.
- You must also possess one of the following qualifications:
National Diploma (ND)
- Faculty/Programme: Accepted in all faculties, except MBBS and Dentistry.
- Point: Minimum of Upper Credit.
Higher National Diploma (HND)
- Faculty/Programme: Accepted in all faculties, except MBBS, Dentistry, and Allied Health Sciences.
- Point: Minimum of Lower Credit.
Ordinary Diploma (OD)
- Faculty/Programme: Accepted only in the Faculty of Law.
- Point: Minimum of Upper Credit.
National Certificate in Education (NCE)
- Faculty/Programme: Accepted in Faculties of Arts & Islamic Studies, Education, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Agriculture.
- Point: Minimum of 9 points for teaching subjects, excluding Education, in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Agriculture. For Arts and Humanities, a minimum of 10 points is required.
IJMB/GCE “A” Level
- Faculty/Programme: Accepted in all faculties, except Education (with the exception of Library & Information Science).
- Point: Minimum of 9 points for Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Agriculture. Arts and Humanities require a minimum of 10 points, while Health Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences require at least 12 points.
O’ Level Requirements for Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Direct Entry
All National “O” Level results (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, NBAIS) are accepted with a few exceptions:
- NBAIS is only accepted for B.A. Arabic, B.A. Islamic Studies, and B.A. Sharia.
- NABTEB is not accepted for College of Health Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dentistry, and Allied Health Sciences.
Step-by-Step Registration for BUK Direct Entry Screening
Follow these steps to complete your BUK Direct Entry screening registration:
Step 1: Login
Visit the BUK website and click on 2024 DE ONLINE SCREENING EXERCISE.
Step 2: Profile Update
Use your JAMB DE Registration Number, State, and Gender to log in.
Fill out the form with your details, keeping in mind that the photograph uploaded from JAMB will be used as your official ID throughout your stay at Bayero University, Kano.
Step 3: Generate Payment Invoice
Generate and download your Personalised Payment Invoice (PPI), which will include a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).
The screening fee is ₦2,000.00.
You can pay online via Credit/Debit card or Internet banking, or you can print the invoice and pay at any commercial bank nationwide.
Once payment is complete, print your acknowledgment slip.
- Ensure you have uploaded your O’ Level results (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, NBAIS) to JAMB CAPS. Only candidates who have done this will be considered for admission.
- Providing false information will lead to disqualification.
- You can submit a maximum of two different O’ Level results.
