Lakehead University in Canada is seeking a highly motivated and research-driven student with a background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing and LiDAR or a related field for a Master of Environmental Studies (MES) program beginning January 2025.
The program is titled Sustainable, Safe, Smart, and Connected Building Management to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions and is administered by the Department of Geography and the Environment.
This research aims to develop a GIS-based indoor floor map for the Four Rivers Environmental Services Group’s new office space for better building management. The specific objectives are to;
- collect available data related to building floors, energy consumption, and space planning.
- acquire indoor Images and LIDAR data
- build the indoor model for the office building and develop rules for navigation and space and energy management
- design a model, smart workspace for future reference.
