Eligibility For 2025 Scholarship In Protein Homeostasis, University of Cologne

  • PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Proven research excellence, demonstrated by (co-)first-author publications.
  • Strong team player, with excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Experience or willingness to work with mice (previous animal experiment accreditation is desirable).
  • Background in proteostasis, endolysosomal trafficking/signaling, biomolecular condensates, or protein biochemistry.
  • Experience with oocyte/embryo manipulation, imaging, and/or in vitro reconstituted systems is an advantage.

Description For 2025 Scholarship In Protein Homeostasis, University of Cologne

  • Investigate the regulation of endolysosomal super-organelles in mouse oocytes and its deterioration during reproductive aging.
  • Perform isolation, microinjection, immunostaining, and imaging of mouse oocytes and embryos.
  • Optimize ultra-low-input proteomics and lipidomics for mouse oocytes.
  • Develop and lead an independent research project under the supervision of the PI.
  • Supervise undergraduate students and contribute to the collaborative culture of the lab.
