Eligibility For 2024 Fellowship in Microbial Interactions At University of Copenhagen
- Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Food Science, or equivalent.
- Experience with cultivation and analysis of bacteria and in vitro biofilm models.
- Familiarity with confocal microscopy analysis of bacterial communities and genetic engineering of bacteria.
- Knowledge of bioinformatic analyses of bacterial genomes and experience in data analysis using R and/or Python would be beneficial.

Description For 2024 Fellowship in Microbial Interactions At University of Copenhagen
The successful candidate will engage in a 3-year project aimed at understanding and utilizing the potential of multispecies bacterial communities to enhance plant protection and improve crop resilience. Key responsibilities include the creation and characterization of an artificial model for studying bacterial spatial dynamics, analysis of bacterial community organization and interactions using confocal laser scanning microscopy and Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization, and investigation of how nutrient uptake impacts competitive exclusion among these communities.
